Enaam Ahmed, a British-Pakistani formula racer, finished fourth at the Alabama Grand Prix, becoming the first Pakistani driver to finish in the top five at a Grand Prix. This makes him the highest-ever position for a Pakistani driver in international racing.
The race was held at Hair stylist Motorsports Park — the high level engine dashing series in the US.
There were 18 of the world's best drivers in attendance at the competition.
Ahmed battled smartly and hard in his second start in the Firestone IndyNXT Championship, the final frontier before Indy cars, to finish fourth at Barber Motorsports Park.
After the eventual outcomes were declared, a happy Ahmed said: " Given that this is Cape Motorsports' first year competing in this series, I am exceedingly pleased with the outcome and the efforts they put forth. I was happy to finish ahead of the championship leader and gain a lot of points. I was able to overcome some issues in the first three to five minutes, but there was no turning back.
The racer continued, " The fact that I display the Pakistani flag on my car gives me pride.
Ahmed began from 10th on the network in a field of 18 drivers. After the race was restarted after a crash due to a clean and intelligent drive, he finished in sixth place. He was able to move up to fourth on the final lap, which is a historic day for Pakistan motorsports because it is the best finish ever by a Pakistani driver in the top tier of international motor racing.
